We celebrated Naomi's first birthday on Saturday the 17th because her actual birthday was on Sunday. Mary and Brian were gracious enough to let us party there.
Besides having Mommy and Daddy and a few more of Naomi's grown-ups there, her cousins (and friends!) at the party included Isaac, Porter, Hunter, Kaity, Audrey, Mailea, Reese, Carter, Juneau, and Aubrey.
I made Naomi's cake. It was chocolate with buttercream icing. It turned out pretty darn good!
I love the look on Naomi's face. Cousin Isaac was "helping" a little too much with present opening. She actually didn't mind, but the picture was snapped at just the right moment.
We did have a pinata, and Brian was kind enough to hold it up high so the kids could pull on the ribbons to open it.
Juneau had a great time with the ribbons after the pinata was opened.
We gave Naomi a Funshine Care Bear for her birthday.
It makes a kissing sound and then says a little phrase. When she heard it giving kisses, she had to reciprocate.
Naomi was very cautious digging into her cake.
She tried eating with no hands for a while but finally gave up and thoroughly enjoyed it.
